The Puerto Rico Statistics Institute will be taking over the task of conducting census and survey activities in Puerto Rico, following the signing of an agreement with the U.S. Census Bureau and the U.S. Department of Commerce, the local agency's Executive Director Mario Marazzi said Wednesday.
The Puerto Rico Statistics Institute is calling all entities involved in research and development activities to participate in the Science and Technology Research and Development Survey, which provides for the collection of data on R&D resources earmarked for the island, a key indicator of the knowledge economy, agency Executive Director Mario Marazzi said.
The Puerto Rico Planning Board is working on an integrated plan to streamline and update the process of gathering, analyzing and releasing statistics, seeking to strengthen the numbers available for the island’s economic activities, agency President Luis García-Pelatti said Wednesday.
