The historic town of San Germán recently chalked up another significant feat by becoming the home of Puerto Rico’s first solar-powered gas station, a Texaco location that invested $269,500 to convert its systems, the Energy Affairs Administration said Friday.
Chevron Puerto Rico, which operates on the island under its Texaco brand, and its network of retailers, has joined the "Pumpkins of Hope" fundraising campaign to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
The Environmental Protection Agency announced Tuesday a settlement agreement with Chevron Puerto Rico, LLC through which the company will spend some $5.2 million to improve leak detection methods and operations at some 100 Texaco service stations. The company will also pay a $600,000 penalty.
