Troubled by reports of more than $30 million in expenses after one year of operations, U.S. Reps. José Serrano and Nydia Velázquez sent a letter to the Financial Oversight and Management Board for Puerto Rico expressing concerns over the lack of transparency and independent supervision related to its spending decisions.
OPEN Puerto Rico received what it called “a strong vote of confidence” this week from Nicholas Prouty, CEO of Putnam Bridge Funding LLC, who made an undisclosed donation to help the organization continue its efforts to facilitate and promote transparency in Puerto Rico.
OPEN Puerto Rico, a platform that strives to find and publish governmental data and public documents, is looking to raise $14,000 through crowdfunding platform AntRocket, to be able to further its pursuit of pushing for public sector transparency.
