Seven months after Hurricane María hit the island, United for Puerto Rico has awarded $25.8 million in grants for relief and recovery efforts to 133 NGOs, donated 2,068 generators to small businesses, and completed the distribution of 5 million pounds of supplies.
United for Puerto Rico reached an agreement with Foundation for Puerto Rico, through which the latter will provide technical and administrative support in a cost-efficient manner to increase the organization’s capacity and agility to process grant applications, the nonprofits announced.
United for Puerto Rico announced the distribution of more than $2 million in funds during the second week of November to five nonprofit, non-governmental organizations that seek to aid communities in need, executives confirmed.
