Vimenti opens registration for 33rd cohort of free virtual jobs program

The Vimenti Integrated Services Center has opened enrollment for the 33rd edition of its Employability and Careers Program (PEC, in Spanish), a no-cost initiative that prepares adults for employment in Puerto Rico’s customer service sector.
Registration for the new cohort is open through Aug. 16.
Offered entirely online, the four-week course provides 100 hours of virtual instruction and training in job readiness, resume writing, mock interviews, financial literacy and professional presentation. The program is designed for individuals seeking careers in tourism, sales, gastronomy, banking and administrative support.
“With this cohort, we hope to impact more people, providing them with the necessary tools to successfully integrate into the workforce,” said Limaris Aponte, director of economic development and the Employability and Careers Program at Vimenti.
“Our goal with this new cohort is to continue closing the gap between the lack of employment and the real opportunities that exist in the labor market, and to impact people between the ages of 24 and 55 who reside in the zip codes 00923 and 00924,” she added.
Since its launch, 329 participants have completed the program, with 186 securing employment. Vimenti reports that 97% of participants in the last fiscal year gained the skills needed to complete the training, citing high retention and job-readiness outcomes.
“Thanks to this opportunity, I not only found a stable job, but I also gained confidence in my abilities and a clearer vision of my professional future. It was a turning point in my life,” said graduate Zacha Cruz. She added that the program “not only delivers technical skills but also aims to foster confidence and direction.”
