WAPA, Hecho en Puerto Rico renew deal to boost local goods
WAPA Television and the Hecho en Puerto Rico Association have renewed their biennial collaboration agreement, extending a 23-year partnership that highlights locally made products, services and business talent.
Under the agreement, the Hecho en Puerto Rico logo will be displayed in the lobby of WAPA’s building as a symbol of local industry, station officials said.
“WAPA has distinguished itself by diversifying its content and services across its radio and TV stations, as well as on digital platforms,” said Jorge Hidalgo, CEO of WAPA Media. “We continue to produce for our local audience and those residing in the diaspora, with the best interests of boosting Puerto Rican industry.”
“The renewal of this alliance supports the promotion of a sustainable economy and the creation of new jobs,” he added. “We’re honored to display the iconic ‘Hecho en Puerto Rico’ product seal on our main building and that our productions serve as a forum for the Association’s members to showcase their ventures.”
Mateo Cidre, president of the Hecho en Puerto Rico Association, said the partnership continues to strengthen visibility for entrepreneurs.
“WAPA and Hecho en Puerto Rico share a clear vision: to support our own and give visibility to the island’s entrepreneurial talent,” he said. “Today we celebrate the renewal of a collaborative agreement that, for years, has allowed the ‘Hecho en Puerto Rico’ segment to reach thousands of homes every two weeks, highlighting success stories, products and services from our local businesses.”
NotiCentro al Amanecer will continue airing the “Hecho en Puerto Rico” segment. WAPA’s radio and television stations, including WKAQ 580 and KQ 105, will provide additional promotional opportunities for Association members and their more than 500 products and services, according to the announcement.
