WAPA TV, WAPA Deportes launch on Sling TV in Puerto Rico
WAPA Media announced that WAPA TV has become the first local channel available on Sling TV in Puerto Rico, expanding its distribution to the streaming platform.
The launch also includes WAPA Deportes, which the company said is the island’s only channel dedicated exclusively to sports programming.
With the addition of both channels, Puerto Rican audiences can access news, variety shows, comedy and live sports through Sling TV as more viewers turn to streaming for live and on-demand content.
The move is part of WAPA Media’s strategy to position its brands across all platforms.
“The fact that we’re expanding distribution of WAPA TV and WAPA Deportes on the island in partnership with a proven platform like Sling TV, strengthens our commitment to making premium Puerto Rican content increasingly accessible,” said Jorge Hidalgo, president of WAPA Media.
“This recognizes the importance of WAPA TV and WAPA Deportes for Puerto Ricans, and we’re proud to be the first local channel to launch on Sling TV in Puerto Rico,” he said.
WAPA Deportes offers coverage of both local and international sports, including live updates, analysis and special events. WAPA TV airs entertainment and news programming.
