From the traditional “pitorro,” “mofongo,” and “coquito,” to artisan chocolate, typical Puerto Rican candies and coffee, were on display by 14 local companies who participated in this year’s edition of the “Summer Fancy Food Show” held in New York.
The National Science Foundation, through the Small Business Innovation Research, approved a $150,000 grant to Mayagüez start-up Cutting Edge Superconductors Inc., plus another $100,000 from the Puerto Rico Science, Research and Technology Trust, which it will use to launch the first phase of its research this month.
Puerto Rican transaction processing company EVERTEC is moving forward with its eco-friendly corporate social responsibility program, establishing parking for hybrid cars and conducting awareness events for its 1,600 employees who so far have collected 232,771 pounds of materials in its recycling center and operational areas.
