CDVCA presents 10 firms at Unlock Capital showcase

The Community Development Venture Capital Alliance recently held its fourth Unlock Capital Investor Showcase at the Puerto Rico Science, Technology and Research Trust’s Forward Center, where 10 companies presented their businesses to investors and advisers.
The showcase is designed to connect young companies with potential partners and growth capital.
The participating companies included Afya Technology, Murmuratto, Cutting Edge Superconductors, Turmerico, Dynamiko Pharmaceutics, Flexio, Outcome Project, TM Vacation Services, W2B and Work AI, representing health care, hospitality, technology, manufacturing, finance and consumer products.
“The Unlock Capital Investor Showcase provides a unique platform for emerging companies to demonstrate their ability for innovation and capacity for growth,” said Emmanuel Loubriel-Carreras, executive manager of the program.
“We help founders access capital so that they can scale and deliver key products and services to their target market, which in turn produces social and economic development benefits and impact for Puerto Rico,” he said.
In the past decade, CDVCA has worked with more than 185 companies in Puerto Rico, reporting more than 10,000 jobs retained or created. Since 2016, it has managed the Puerto Rico Fund for Growth and invested more than $45 million through funds and direct company investments.
Since 2021, Unlock Capital has supported 59 businesses in obtaining $13.6 million in growth financing with backing from the Department of Housing’s Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery funds and local partners.
