La Maestría College Tour to visit 4 Puerto Rico universities
La Maestría College Tour 2025 will visit four universities in Puerto Rico in October, offering students guidance on leadership, finance and professional development through interactive talks and mentorship opportunities.
The initiative, led by Raúl Palacios, aims to give students tools to strengthen their academic and professional futures.
“Statistically, Puerto Rico experiences financial fragility that directly impacts quality of life,” Palacios said. “This happens in part due to lack of education, but also because many young people do not have safe spaces to learn about finances.”
The tour will stop at NUC University in Bayamón on Oct. 1, Universidad Ana G. Méndez in Cupey on Oct. 8, the University of Puerto Rico in Río Piedras on Oct. 15 and Interamerican University Metro Campus on Oct. 22. Students will explore budgeting, money psychology and investing basics and learn about the long-term benefits of compound interest.
Students will also participate in mentorship sessions with industry leaders and companies including Farmacias Caridad, VA Federal Credit Union, Walmart Puerto Rico, Primera Hora, Hello Media, Al Chavo.com and Causa Local.
The program will conclude with the third edition of La Maestría Live on Oct. 29 at the Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico. The event will feature a live presentation on human creativity in the age of artificial intelligence, networking opportunities, a bazaar and food stations. Tickets are available at Ticketera.com.
