Magic Transport celebrates 40 years in logistics

Magic Transport, a provider of port-to-port logistics services that is celebrating its 40th anniversary, is aiming to further integrate technology into all its operations across Puerto Rico and the mainland U.S. to automate and streamline customer processes.

The company’s plans include the adoption of electronic invoicing, real-time transit status, delivery tracking, digitized shipping documents and expanding air service reach.

As the largest freight consolidator in Puerto Rico, Magic Logistics moves more than 3,500 containers annually, handling various cargo types for such industries as retail, pharmaceuticals, construction, automotive, and general merchandise that requires less refrigeration.

Facing challenges such as offering flexible, competitive pricing without compromising the quality and excellence of its service, the company continues to navigate economic fluctuations, including inflation and high operational costs on the island.

Founded in 1984 by a unique partnership between an entrepreneur and a magician, the company has grown significantly in the maritime and air cargo sectors, both nationally and internationally.

“We are proudly celebrating four decades of achievements at Magic,” said company President Carlos Padial. “What was once a humble beginning, has transformed into a globally recognized company, competing with industry giants. Our commitment to personalized, high-quality service has distinguished us in the market, and we are confident in maintaining our leadership for many more years.”

With headquarters in the Pepsi Industrial Center in Toa Baja’s Candelaria District, Magic operates an infrastructure of more than 100,000 square feet of storage and cargo space. It employs more than 100 Puerto Ricans in both direct and indirect jobs. Magic has expanded its stateside operations, with key terminals in Jacksonville and Miami, Florida, as well as in New Jersey, Chicago and California, “ensuring comprehensive logistic coverage for its clients,” the company said.

Investing in advanced technology, Magic offers the Magic Web Tracker, giving clients real-time shipment information, enhancing transparency, efficiency and compliance with safety and inventory control standards.

“At Magic Logistics, we take pride in operating with our own staff to handle our operations and ensure every link from maritime transportation to domestic and international air transportation and distribution. Our clients benefit from direct contact 24 hours a day with our team, fostering confidence and security at every step of the logistics process,” said Antonio “Tony” Pabón, vice president of Magic.
