SBA opens call for ’17 Nat’l Small Business Week nods

SBAThe U.S. Small Business Administration announced Monday it is now accepting nominations for its 2017 National Small Business Week Awards, including the annual Small Business Person of the Year.

Since 1963, National Small Business Week has recognized the outstanding achievements of America’s small businesses for their contributions to their local communities, and to our nation’s economy.

“National Small Business Week gives us an ideal opportunity to honor entrepreneurs who invest countless hours and efforts in managing successful small businesses, and creating the jobs that help our economy thrive,” said SBA Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands District Director Yvette T. Collazo.

“We encourage community leaders, government officials and private-sector organizations to submit nominations for the 2017 Small Business Week Awards and join us in celebrating small business owners, their talents and achievements,” she said.

The dedicated website provides forms, criteria and guidelines for submitting a nomination. SBA Awards given in celebration of National Small Business Week, April 30–May 6, 2017, include the following:

All nominations must be submitted no later than 3 p.m. EST, Jan. 10, 2017, and may only be hand delivered or mailed to the SBA Puerto Rico district office, attention of Angelique Adjutant, Public Affairs Officer, at 273 Ponce de León Ave., Plaza 273 Suite 510, San Juan, PR 00917.
