Under current economic conditions, Puerto Rico’s nonprofits must be able to measure the results of their efforts to justify their work effectively to their donors and society in general.
Puerto Rico’s declining population, rapidly aging workforce, significant fiscal pressures and subsequent policy measures have combined to prompt a reduction in the government’s workforce over the past five years by as many as 55,000 jobs, or almost 20 percent of the public sector’s workforce.
Puerto Rico car sales showed a slight improvement last month, when 8,906 vehicles were sold on the island, representing a 1.7 percent year-over-year increase, said the United Automobile Importers Group (known as GUIA for its initials in Spanish), an organization that represents the local automotive industry.
