Puerto Rico government officials confirmed Tuesday the García-Padilla administration is working on a proposal to persuade aerospace giant Boeing to build its new 777X aircraft on the island, which could create thousands of jobs and billions of dollars in much-needed economic activity.
Less than a week after disclosing plans to invest new vessels to serve the Puerto Rico route, maritime shipper Crowley and the Gov. García-Padilla administration announced Tuesday the company’s plans to turn the island into its export hub for the Caribbean.
As part of its commitment to social responsibility to the island, Scotiabank de Puerto Rico recently conducted a fundraising campaign through which it managed to raise $26,500 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
