San Juan is among the top 10 most searched destinations for Thanksgiving travel this year, according to Spirit Airlines. The carrier said travelers are showing strong interest in warm-weather destinations and major metropolitan areas for the period of Nov. 25 through Dec. 1, 2025.

The most-searched destinations include Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, Las Vegas, Houston, Detroit, Atlanta, Newark, New York–LaGuardia, San Juan and Dallas–Fort Worth, the airline reported.

Spirit said increased searches for destinations such as Puerto Rico reflect travelers’ interest in combining family gatherings with leisure time.

“This Thanksgiving, travelers are searching for flights to spend the long weekend with the people and places they’re most thankful for,” said Rana Ghosh, senior vice president and chief commercial officer at Spirit Airlines.

Spirit expects a busy travel week, with more than 3,200 flights scheduled during the Thanksgiving period. The airline said it will cover more than 3 million miles, which it compared to “21.55 billion pumpkin pies laid end to end.”

The busiest travel days are projected to be Nov. 30 and Dec. 1, as travelers return home after the long weekend.
