Spark by Hilton to debut in Ponce, marking first in Caribbean region

Hilton has announced plans to open Spark by Hilton Ponce, introducing its premium economy brand to the Caribbean and Latin America for the first time.
The hotel, owned by Ponce Resorts Inc. and managed by HI Development P.R. Corp., is slated to open in late 2025. It will be located near Mercedita International Airport and Highway 52, offering easy access to both Ponce and San Juan.
The 120-room property will include a meeting room, breakfast area and outdoor pool. According to Hilton, Spark properties are designed to offer “reliable essentials and friendly service” at an affordable price. Standard amenities will include in-room refrigerators, complimentary breakfast, and bright communal areas for dining, working or relaxing.
“We’re very excited and looking forward to the new addition of the Spark by Hilton to our hotel portfolio,” said Miguel Vega, president of HI Development P.R. Corp.
Hilton said Spark is its fastest-growing brand, with more than 160 hotels opened worldwide during its first year and about 190 more in development. The Ponce location is expected to help build regional brand awareness.
Hilton currently operates 10 hotels in Puerto Rico and has announced plans to double that number within four years. Across the Caribbean, it manages about 50 properties and has 40 more under development. In the broader Caribbean and Latin America region, the company has 290 open hotels and more than 145 in the pipeline.
Guests at the new hotel will have access to Hilton Honors, the company’s loyalty rewards program.
