The new president of the Associated General Contractors, Puerto Rico Chapter, Stephen Spears, said Thursday in his inaugural speech that the trade group will “vigorously defend” the use of local contractors, sub-contractors and local suppliers to maximize opportunities created by Hurricane María’s devastation.
The Associated General Contractors of America, Puerto Rico Chapter (AGC-PR) on Monday blasted Senate President Eduardo Bhatia for withdrawing the Puerto Rico Aqueduct Authority Revitalization Act, saying holding off on its approval “is an attack on the island’s welfare and the future of the construction industry.”
The Highways Authority will invest $254.6 million in federal funding on 53 road infrastructure projects that should be awarded in June 2016, agency Executive Director Carmen Villar announced Thursday during a meeting of the Associated General Contractors, Puerto Rico Chapter.
