Ten years after plans for its creation were announced, the Puerto Rico Planning Board released Thursday the draft document of the Land Use Plan and Planning Guidelines, intended to guide the island toward a model of full and sustainable socio-economic development.
Following an investment of $234,000 the town of Hormigueros recently inaugurated its first greenhouse dedicated to producing green peppers, tomatoes and other produce varieties, said town Mayor Pedro García- Figueroa, during an event at the San Romualdo community.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Aerostar Airport Holdings, the Puerto Rico Agriculture Department and the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, joined in announcing Wednesday the implementation of the international “Travelers Don’t Pack a Pest” outreach program, a multi-agency initiative. The announcement was made at the Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport.
