So far, the carrier has upgraded 164 cell sites in the San Juan metro region, 128 cell sites in the north and east regions, and 174 cell sites in the central, south and west regions.

Wireless carrier AT&T announced Monday it has added extra capacity to 28 cell sites in St. Thomas and St. Croix; upgraded five sites in St. John, St. Thomas and St. Croix with LTE technology; and activated a new cell site in St. Thomas in its ongoing efforts to enhance the wireless capacity and coverage of its mobile Internet network available in the neighboring island chain.
