The Puerto Rico Agriculture Department announced Thursday it has received $720,000 from the Natural Resources Conservation Service to protect and preserve the lands belonging to the Yabucoa Valley Reserve in that eastern town.
The Agriculture Department is currently reviewing milk and coffee prices to determine whether increases are necessary for the products that are staples for Puerto Rican consumers. The results for both reviews should be ready by summer, agency Secretary Myrna Comas said.
The Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands district office of the U.S. Small Business Administration recently chose Eniel Torres-Ojeda, president of Productos La Finca Inc., to receive its “2014 Puerto Rico Small Business Person of the Year” award, during the closing ceremonies of Small Business Week on the island.
