UBS Puerto Rico executives announced Wednesday the creation of the U.S. Municipal & Income Fund Inc., an additional investment alternative to its existing portfolio of funds.
Puerto Rico received $7 billion in American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds in 2009, but failed to create and retain jobs and renovate infrastructure as they were supposed to because hundreds of millions of dollars were used to cover the operational deficiencies of a handful of government agencies.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has awarded $585,000 in federal funding to recruit security and specialized staff to operate the Jobos Bay Estuarine Research Reserve, Puerto Rico’s Resident Commissioner in Washington, D.C, Pedro Pierluisi, said Wednesday.
