Software giant Microsoft, in cooperation with nonprofit organization Trust for the Americas, recently donated $37,000 to open a new learning center at the Jane Stern Dorado Community Library.
Nearly 50 years of Puerto Rico’s history captured in print and photographs that had been stored in the library of the former The San Juan Star newspaper in Guaynabo are being pulled out of the building this week by a brigade from the University of Puerto Rico.
Some 2,100 members of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions from more than 120 countries will be in San Juan for a five-day convention that is expected to pump $2.8 million into the local economy, the Puerto Rico Convention Bureau said Friday.
