Plaza Carolina, Puerto Rico and the Caribbean’s second-largest mall, unveiled Thursday its new look and expanded store offering in preparation for this year’s holiday season. Reopening activities will take place all weekend and include the traditional lighting of the Christmas tree, musical presentations and special promotional events, mall officials said.
The Economic Development Bank approved a $2.5 million rescue loan to spare the Ocean Marina Blue Shopping Center, the only strip mall in Puerto Rico’s coastal town of Loíza, owned by siblings and built in 2008.
Taubman Centers, Inc. announced Thursday that construction will begin this summer on the $405 million, 640,000-square-foot luxury shopping center formerly known as Plaza Internacional, now re-named The Mall of San Juan, located just off the Teodoro Moscoso Bridge in San Juan.
