The U.S. House Subcommittee on Communications and Technology, chaired by Rep. Greg Walden (R-OR), has scheduled a hearing for June 11 to review the Federal Communications Commission’s proposal to close 16 of 24 field offices, including the one in Puerto Rico.
In an effort to help prepare college students with the skills needed to succeed in the 21st century, Microsoft Puerto Rico, in collaboration with the University of Puerto Rico, announced Tuesday the launch of "Student Advantage," a program through which 107,500 UPR students, teachers and non-teaching staff of the system will have access to the Office 365 platform for education, free of charge.
In an effort to make its services more accessible to the public, the State Department has reopened its Passport Processing Office located in the Mayagüez Mall. The office had been stripped of its permits to issue passports in September 2012.
