Payco Foods, Puerto Rico’s main ice cream and frozen foods distributor, recently officially inaugurated its 29,000 square-foot new distribution center and headquarters in Bayamón.
That familiar freckled-face boy who in the 1980s personified the Payco ice cream brand is making a comeback, as parent company Payco Foods Corp. announced Tuesday the relaunching of its line of creamy frozen treats that were a favorite among Puerto Rico consumers back then.
A legal fight between two Puerto Rico ice cream distributors was frozen in its tracks this week by the U.S. District Court of Appeals in Boston, when Chief Judge Sandra L. Lynch dismissed a lawsuit brought on by Sterling Merchandising, Inc., distributor of Edy’s and other brands, against Nestlé Puerto Rico Inc.
