A delegation of four Puerto Rican businesses achieved sales of $5.4 million during the most recent trade mission to Peru that took place Aug. 7-11 coordinated by Puerto Rico Trade and Export Company, agency Executive Director Ricardo J. Llerandi confirmed.
WASHINGTON — Move over, Asian tigers. It looks like the four so-called “Pacific Pumas” — Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru — have become the latest darlings of the investor crowd.
Large scale exports of local building services to Latin America may soon be a reality for hundreds of Puerto Rican entrepreneurs, as countries such as Peru and Colombia are interested in developing infrastructure projects and public-private partnerships worth billions that could be served from the island.
Puerto Rico Trade, in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Trade and Puerto Rico’s Commercial Office for Panama and Latin America, is putting together a commercial mission to Peru, from June 5-8.
