Plaza Lás Americas announced Tuesday the start of a $12 million renovation project that includes improvements to the Hato Rey mall’s exterior, a new, wider entrance and 300 additional parking spaces.
Microsoft Corp. confirmed Friday it has reached an agreement with Plaza las Américas in Hato Rey to open its first Microsoft Store at the mall, officially joining the retail sector to sell its technology products under its own roof.
Constructora Sambil, the Venezuelan developer behind the proposed $400 million mega-shopping center in Guaynabo, is hopeful it will be able to break ground on the project this year after the Puerto Rico Supreme Court denied a motion for reconsideration presented by Plaza Las Américas that sought to paralyze the mall’s construction.
