A delegation comprising 27 teams of elementary, middle and high school students will be traveling to Anaheim, CA next month to represent Puerto Rico in the VEX Robotics World Championship 2014, the Puerto Rico Institute of Robotics announced.
A local delegation of 27 teams under the leadership of the Puerto Rico Institute of Robotics excelled in world championship competition held this past weekend at the Anaheim Convention Center, picking up 12 international awards.
More than 100 teams of qualifying local elementary to high school students will compete in this year’s Latin American Robotics Competition, taking place Feb. 8-10 at the Puerto Rico Convention Center and the Pedrín Zorrilla Coliseum in San Juan, organizers from the Puerto Rico Robotics Institute announced Tuesday.
The Puerto Rico Institute of Robotics, a local nonprofit dedicated to sparking the interest and knowledge among students in the disciplines of science, math, engineering, and technology, has been chosen among nine organizations that will partner with NASA this summer to help the agency implement its 2011 “Summer of Innovation” education program.
