The Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan is one of the safest in the nation, despite contraband issues and attempts to use the island as a bridge for drug trafficking, Transportation Security Administration officials said.
Luis Muñoz Marín Airport officials, along with local and federal tourism and U.S. Customs and Border Patrol personnel, unveiled a new $6 million Federal Inspections Station at Terminal B of Puerto Rico’s main air traffic hub.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection said its operations in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands are “ready to secure and facilitate travel for thousands of passengers departing to and arriving from international destinations.”
