Three Puerto Rico farming operations will split nearly $240,000 in loans and grants from the U.S. Department of Agriculture to produce renewable energy and make energy efficiency improvements, the agency announced Tuesday.
A dozen public and private universities in Puerto Rico have invested a combined $2.3 million in energy conservation and renewable energy projects to reduce their operating costs and diversify their energy production while contributing to the environment.
The Puerto Rico Planning Board announced over the weekend the approval of a pair of renewable energy projects in the municipalities of Isabela and Morovis that will continue diversifying the island’s energy sources.
