Puerto Rico will host this year’s annual Latin American Forum of Telecommunications Regulators convention in November, when industry representatives from the region will convene to discuss and seek solutions to current issues.
A group of 182,442 customers of the defunct Centennial de Puerto Rico will be splitting about $1 million after winning a class-action suit against the carrier that is now part of AT&T Puerto Rico over improperly collected municipal tax fees from July 2009 to December 2009.
Last Thursday, the Puerto Rico senate approved a substitute bill that consolidated several of the measures that had made the leaders of the telecommunications industry unanimously oppose any possible changes to Law 213, known as the Telecommunications Law.
