Topdoerr AI: Puerto Rican startup innovates e-commerce

Topdoerr AI, which was founded by four Puerto Ricans who reside in Florida to provide e-commerce services such as content creation, integrations and data-driven insights, is on a mission to continue attracting investors and continue growing.

“We also have a tool that examines the clients’ views or thoughts and helps businesses be able to respond to that feedback in a way they avoid losing clients,” Topdoerr AI CEO Kevin Velázquez said in an interview with News is my Business.

“We also have the option of providing our clients the ability to generate posts in social media that help them optimize results. Furthermore, we help them optimize the outreach they have with their clients; for example, we analyze keywords that are trending, and it generates content based on those keywords so they can optimize results.”

The company began operations in June 2022 and in February opened their minimum viable product (MVP), which Velázquez said is currently “open and in public beta.”

“We are collecting feedback from the clients and we have been able to implement changes through that feedback that we have received” he added.

An MVP is a version of a product with “just enough features to be usable by early customers who can then provide feedback for future product development,” he explained.

Microsoft backed Topdoerr AI through its startup support program.

“I applied, and we were chosen,” Velázquez recalled. “Microsoft sponsored us with $200,000. The founders invested $15,000 in the company.”

Though the company maintains an office in Miami, the staff predominantly works remotely or in a hybrid model, with some based in Orlando, Florida. Topdoerr AI’s team of six focuses on AI content generation through natural language processing.

Topdoeer AI’s tools enable the creation of high-converting descriptions, personalized replies and engaging social media content quickly. It allows clients to concentrate on strategies while AI produces quality content that converts and scales businesses.

“We have been in the MVP for one month and we have a total of 58 clients,” Velázquez said. “Our clients are mostly small-business owners who own stores in Shopify or Amazon. About 20% of the clients that have registered for the company’s services are based in Puerto Rico. In fact, as Puerto Ricans, our focus is to offer these services to Puerto Rico. Similarly, one of Topdoerr’s mission is using AI for people who perhaps don’t have the resources for having a full team so they can generate the same kind of quality content through AI that other [bigger] companies can.”

Among the company’s future plans is assisting an event in Canada in June that will delve into AI topics.

“We will be connecting with different people from the industry, investors, potential clients,” aiming to increase the company’s recognition, Velázquez said.
