XJTT invests $300K in new inn, sells part of Combate Beach Resort

XJTT Hospitality Inc. has invested more than $300,000 to launch I Love Combate Rooms & Suites, a modern, eco-friendly inn set to open this summer near El Combate Beach in Cabo Rojo.
The new lodging facility was developed through the remodeling and technological upgrade of an existing property. It will offer guests a personalized, tech-focused experience just steps from the coastline and near the Cabo Rojo National Wildlife Refuge.
The announcement comes as XJTT also confirmed the sale of part of its previous hotel holdings. A portion of the Parador Combate Beach Resort — specifically 36 rooms, the restaurant and recreational areas — has been sold and is now managed by AEELA del Caribe LLC, a subsidiary of the Puerto Rico Commonwealth Employees Association, a nonprofit that offers financial services and benefits to public employees, government retirees and their families.
The financial terms were not disclosed.
XJTT retains ownership of the “I Love Combate” brand and will continue operations in Cabo Rojo through the new inn and its Tourist Information Center and Gift & Convenience Store, scheduled to open in July.
“I Love Combate Rooms & Suites is a project anchored in smart technology,” said Xavier A. Ramírez, the entrepreneur behind the concept. “We can guarantee our guests a comfortable, clean and safe stay, with the technology that the local and nonresident traveler is looking for.”
The facility blends boutique hotel design with hostel-style flexibility, featuring shared amenities such as a kitchen, dining room and high-speed Wi-Fi. Room options include private suites for couples and families, and shared rooms rented by the bed. Features include 50-inch smart TVs with cable, Alexa chat boxes, refrigerators and air conditioning.
“This new hotel product will comply with all the standards of the Tourism Company,” Ramírez said. “We seek to continue being an agent of change and innovation in the region.”
The launch expands XJTT’s 15-year presence in promoting El Combate as a vibrant tourism destination known for its natural beauty and attractions, outdoor activities, and gastronomy. With more than 6 million visitors arriving in Puerto Rico each year and growing interest in the southwest region, the company aims to meet demand for affordable, quality accommodations.
Surrounded by restaurants, pharmacies, tour operators and iconic beaches, the new inn will cater to eco-conscious travelers seeking local experiences.
Ramírez noted that reservations will begin in mid-June on the hotel’s website and through Airbnb, Booking.com and Expedia.
XJTT reiterated its commitment to sustainable tourism and to the development of Cabo Rojo’s local business ecosystem.
“We will continue to support the responsible strengthening of our business environment, as well as the projects of other SME entrepreneurs in the region,” the company stated.
