Amgen Foundation, the philanthropic arm of biomanufacturing company Amgen, recently awarded the first $1 million in grants as part of its rebuilding efforts in Puerto Rico.
Commencing immediately, the del Sol Foundation — using energy storage technology coupled with rooftop solar arrays — will begin outfitting 500 sites located throughout the island.
The funds cover expenses for emergency protective measures, debris removal and for the Sheltering and Temporary Essential Power Pilot Program.
