Claro to offer iPhone as of 11-11-11
The iPhone 4S will be available at Claro starting Friday.
Wireless carrier Claro announced Wednesday it will begin selling the iPhone 4S starting Nov. 11, starting at $99.99 for the 16GB model, $199.99 for the 32GB model and $299.99 for the 64GB handset. The carrier will also offer the older iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS models.
Launched in October, the iPhone 4S is packed with Apple’s dual-core A5 chip for blazing fast performance and stunning graphics; an all new camera with advanced optics; full 1080p HD resolution video recording; and Siri, an intelligent assistant that helps get things done through voice commands. Apple announced on Oct. 17 that it had sold more than 4 million iPhone 4S handsets in just three days after its launch.
Last month, Claro acknowledged it would be adding the wildly popular handset to its portfolio of products, but remained mum as to when that would happen.
“We’re pleased to offer the iPhone 4S to our customers in Puerto Rico,” said Claro President Enrique Ortíz de Montellano. “With our flexible plans, we’re sure customers will enjoy using the iPhone on Puerto Rico’s most powerful network.”
Monthly plans range from $64.98 to $84.98, depending on the voice and text options selected.
