CIO & IT Leadership Conference slated for Mar. 10
For the fourth consecutive year, the CIO & IT Leadership Conference will be held on March 10 at the Sheraton Puerto Rico Hotel & Casino, organizers announced Monday.
During the Activity, public and private sector leaders meet to discuss the industry’s most pressing challenges with the goal of positioning Puerto Rico as a leader in technology and innovation services in the region, the Puerto Rico IT Cluster’s Board announced in a statement.
“Given the current challenges we face in Puerto Rico, the information technology industry is even more relevant as one of the main sectors in the generation of jobs and with the potential to become one of the most important engines of economic development for the island,” said Alberto Cordero, chairman of the PRITC board.
The event’s agenda, published at the PRITC’s website, includes representation from the local and international private sector, as well as the island’s public sector, with presentations by Gov. Ricardo Rosselló, Economic Development and Commerce Secretary Manuel Laboy, and Luis Arocho, the government’s CIO.
“Throughout the years, the event has become the most important platform for doing business in the computer industry in the Caribbean, bringing together more than 700 participants from Puerto Rican companies, multinationals and public sector agencies,” added Cordero.
