BBVA Puerto Rico announced Thursday it will be pumping more than $1 million to begin remodeling its branches to match them with the banking group’s global corporate identity. The transition, which also calls for changing the appearance of its credit and debit cards, as well as other day-to-day elements, should be finished by the first quarter of next year, company officials said.
I was perhaps 19 years old the first time I came face-to-face with an Apple computer. It was a small, tan, square box with a monochrome screen smaller than any I had ever seen. I was a college student embarking on my new job as a “Mac lab” assistant. In comparison to the rest of my “techie” co-workers, I was a newbie … I had NO clue how to work those foreign-looking devices.
The list of once thriving companies dragged under by Puerto Rico's long-running recession and the tightening of the bank credit spigot keeps growing longer.
