Puerto Rico brands promoted at Fancy Food Show in New York

Puerto Rican companies exhibit gourmet products at the 2025 Summer Fancy Food Show in New York, one of the world’s leading specialty food trade events.

Ten Puerto Rican food companies recently promoted their products at the 2025 Summer Fancy Food Show in New York, one of the industry’s top international trade events. Held in New York City from June 29 to July 1, the show brought together global buyers and manufacturers, offering local brands a platform to boost visibility and explore new export opportunities.

The participating companies were Montadero Chocolates, Jeanmarie Chocolat, Hacienda Tres Soles, Café Oro, Cacao 360, Apiarios Caraballo, R Brothers LLC, Sabrina Bottling Group Inc., Vaca Negra and Amasar LLC.

The delegation participated under the sponsorship of the Trade and Export Program of the Department of Economic Development and Commerce (DDEC, in Spanish).

“This event served as a strategic platform for international exposure, networking and business development in the gourmet sector,” said DDEC Secretary Sebastián Negrón-Reichard. “Ten Puerto Rican companies showcased their high-quality, innovative products to global buyers. We remain committed to supporting local businesses in expanding into international markets.”

Puerto Rico Gov. Jenniffer González-Colón said the event supports the island’s food industry and opens access to global markets.

“The participation of these 10 companies represents our dedication to promoting local excellence. Events like the Fancy Food Show open doors to international markets, help attract key buyers and create strategic alliances that contribute directly to our economic growth,” she said.

Anthony Cardona, director of DDEC’s Business Development Office, said the agency aims to grow exports and reduce imports by supporting local value-added production.

“Our strategy focuses on producing world-class, value-added food products locally and promoting them abroad. It’s about boosting exports and reducing imports — both of which positively impact Puerto Rico’s economy,” Cardona said.

Among the participants, Amasar LLC has stood out with prior international recognition, winning the SŌFI Award for Best Breakfast Product in 2022 — the first Puerto Rican company to do so — and receiving the KeHE Golden Ticket in 2023, standing out among 1,000 global entries in the alternative flour category.

Beyond product exhibitions, the entrepreneurs took part in networking events, panel discussions and educational sessions. Several companies also competed in the SŌFI Awards, which recognize excellence and innovation in specialty foods.

Organized by the Specialty Food Association, the Summer Fancy Food Show is limited to industry professionals including manufacturers, distributors, buyers, media and investors. Now in its 69th year, the event highlights emerging trends such as plant-based, vegan and gluten-free foods.
