Sunday schedule for banks mixed bag; Scotia, FirstBank open, BPOP closed

Scotiabank de Puerto Rico will keep its Plaza Las Américas branch closed today, due to weather conditions and for the safety of its employees and clients, bank officials announced.

If weather conditions allow it, the branch will reopen Monday, during regular hours.

Meanwhile, because Tropical Storm María swirled away from the island leaving just rain, other banks that open Sundays opted to operate as usual

FirstBank will open its branches at Plaza Las Américas, Plaza Rio Hondo, Guaynabo, Mayaguez Mall, Ponce Centro del Sur, Yauco, Las Catalinas, Caguas Plaza Centro and Plaza Carolina during its regular 11 a.m. a 3 p.m. schedule.

Banco Popular will also remain closed today. ATM machines should be operational as long as the weather and power conditions are favorable.
