Following a challenging year for the auto industry, automaker Toyota is heading into 2018 with optimism, betting on the quality of its products and services and the trust of its customers, to defy the new year.
The United Group of Automobile Importers predicted Wednesday that this year’s car sales will range from 82,000 to 84,000 units, a slight drop from 2016’s results.
Car sales held “under the tent” are an attractive concept for consumers in Puerto Rico, and now Popular Auto is allowing luxury car buyers to experience this virtually.
With 2015 well underway, Toyota de Puerto Rico Corp. executives remain committed to staying the course so as to overcome the many challenges facing the local auto industry.
Puerto Rico car sales showed a slight improvement last month, when 8,906 vehicles were sold on the island, representing a 1.7 percent year-over-year increase, said the United Automobile Importers Group (known as GUIA for its initials in Spanish), an organization that represents the local automotive industry.
If there was one issue on most people’s minds this year was the state of Puerto Rico’s economy. Experts from all walks of life seemed to weigh in on the subject, concurring on a tough situation that has been slow to show signs of improvement.
The number of vehicles that rolled off the lots in Puerto Rico reached 8,773 units in November, which represented a flat 0.2 percent year-over-year improvement and kept the breaks on nearly 10 months of consecutive growth, the United Automobile Importers Group known as GUIA revealed.
Auto sales in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands totaled 8,343 units for the month of October, remaining pretty much flat in comparison to the same month last year, the United Automobile Importers Group known as GUIA announced Thursday.
BBVA Auto, one of the island’s largest vehicle financing firms, will be participating during this weekend’s “The Sale” event, Sept. 29-Oct. 3, at 12 dealerships throughout the island where more than 2,000 new and used cars will be available for sale.
