Companies doing business in Puerto Rico will soon be receiving questionnaires to fill out for the Puerto Rico 2017 Economic Census, the main source of data on the structure and functioning of the island’s economy.
Puerto Rico’s median household income dopped by 4 percent from 2012 to 2016, when it stood at $19,606, in comparison to the $20,403 on record for the prior five-year period, according to the U.S. Census Bureau’s Puerto Rico Community Survey.
The U.S. Census Bureau has updated its demographic projections for Puerto Rico, predicting that the island’s population will be at 2.98 million by 2025, or 25 years earlier than its original projection, the Puerto Rico Institute of Statistics revealed.
