The Puerto Rico Hotel and Tourism Association unveiled Thursday a study that confirms tourism as the sector that can provide “quick stability and economic growth” to Puerto Rico.
Gov.-elect Ricardo Rosselló said Tuesday his administration will delegate the task of promoting Puerto Rico to an independent Destination Management Organization, or DMO, putting the responsibility in the hands of the “sector that knows tourism and the island’s assets.”
Puerto Rico Tourism Company Executive Director Luis Rivera Marín reiterated the government’s commitment to developing the tourism industry through the creation of a Destination Management Organization, which should increase the sector’s economic contributions and generate more jobs.
