Puerto Rico Aqueduct and Sewer Authority Executive Director Alberto Lázaro announced today the start of “Zum,” a project through which the agency will use its infrastructure to deploy fiber-optic technology to make interconnecting the island to high-speed broadband a reality.
The Puerto Rico Highway and Transportation Authority confirmed Wednesday that 30 local companies have been certified to participate in bids for federally funded highway and transportation projects, which will help “strengthen the economy and improve the quality of life.”
The Arecibo campus of the InterAmerican University of Puerto Rico recently opened its new, three-story, $4.5 million multi-purpose building to provide a place where students and faculty can gather to benefit from services and resources designed to help them further their academic and professional development, school officials said.
