Oriental Bank on Wednesday said online banking usage is up by 60 percent, while mobile banking traffic has increased by 338 percent less than a year after launching its People Pay platform, exceeding initial expectations.
Oriental Bank announced Thursday the launch of “FOTODepósito,” a service that allows clients to deposit checks through their smartphones and tablet devices, becoming the first and only bank in Puerto Rico to offer a mobile deposit solution.
A year after launching “Depósito Fácil” (“Easy Deposit”), a service that allows Banco Popular clients to deposit checks without having to use an envelope or fill out a deposit slip, the financial institution announced Tuesday it will be expanding the number of ATMs enabled to accept those transactions from 10 to 50 by the end of September.
