Puerto Rico’s population will dip under 3 million within a year — for the first time since the mid-1970s — if current rates of emigration continue, warns Jenniffer González-Colón, the island’s resident commissioner in Washington.
Puerto Rico Resident Commissioner Jenniffer González announced Wednesday the upcoming creation of an alliance among civic, professional, university and municipalities with the Small Business Administration and the Chamber of Commerce to develop a plan to stimulate the economy through the proliferation of small businesses.
Resident Commissioner Jenniffer González-Colón announced Tuesday the awarding of federal funds in the amounts of $3.5 million to the Barceloneta Primary Health Services Inc. health care center, and $613,914 to the Puerto Rico Firefighter Corps.
Resident Commissioner Jenniffer González, participated in a public hearing convened Wednesday by the Small Business Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives, where the discussion focused on the priorities will be for the development of small entrepreneurs, as well as the administrative priorities of the Small Business Administration.
