New car sales in Puerto Rico reached 8,105 units in April, representing a 37.3 percent increase over the 5,903 units sold during the same month last year, the United Group of Automobile Importers confirmed.
Ford announced positive sales results during the first quarter of this year on the Island. The company recorded a 22 percent increase in total sales, compared to the same period in 2017.
Toyota de Puerto Rico’s 2017 non-fleet sales outpaced the prior year’s results by 9 percent, the company announced.
The United Group of Automobile Importers, known as GUIA for its initials in Spanish, announced there were 6,947 new cars sold in Puerto Rico last month, representing a 2.9 percent increase from the same month last year, and a 4.6 percent jump over June’s results.
