Science Trust CEO Crespo honored for her leadership

Engineer Lucy Crespo, chief executive of the Puerto Rico Science, Technology and Research Trust, received the “Faces of Bioscience” award during the 40th anniversary celebration of the Industry University Research Center Inc. (Induniv), the first official pharmaceutical consortium in the Americas.
The distinction honors individuals whose leadership and vision have helped strengthen Puerto Rico’s bioscience sector and expand its international reach. Crespo was recognized for her long-standing commitment to promoting research, innovation and collaboration among government, academia and industry.
“This recognition is, above all, a tribute to the collective effort of those who work every day to make Puerto Rico a world-class hub for scientific innovation,” Crespo said during the ceremony, held at the Trust’s headquarters.
“Our commitment is to continue strengthening local capabilities and expanding opportunities for talent and investment in science and technology,” she added.
The event brought together leaders from across Puerto Rico’s life sciences community to commemorate four decades of Induniv’s contribution to the island’s economic and scientific development. The celebration also included the official proclamation of Bioscience Month in Puerto Rico, underscoring the sector’s growing importance and potential.
