Yogen Früz opening trio of shops in coming weeks

Just in time to fight off the scorching summer months, frozen yogurt chain Yogen Früz is rapidly expanding its local presence with the recent addition of its Plaza Esmeralda location in Guaynabo, plus plans for future locations slated begin serving the cold treats in Old San Juan, Mayagüez and Carolina in coming weeks.
The Guaynabo location and the three under construction, will push the number of Yogen Früz shops on the island to an even dozen, joining stores in Plaza los Prados in Caguas, Galería Paseos Mall, Western Bank Plaza in Hato Rey, Ocean Park, San Francisco Shopping Center, Mahi Mahi Shopping Center in Dorado, San Patricio Town Center and West Professional Building in Aguadilla.
“At Yogen Früz we want to give our customers a total experience in service and product quality,” said Valeri Rodríguez, owner of the Plaza Esmeralda shop. “We want to create a special atmosphere to have a good time with family or with friends.”
Meanwhile, the Old San Juan location is next in line to open early next month, facing the State Department, News is my Business learned. The franchisees are investing some $200,000 to renovate the 1,200 square-foot locale that will sit about 30 customers.
Yogen Früz’s treats come in a variety of flavors, the most popular being plain yogurt, strawberry cheesecake, hazelnut and key lime pie. To cap off the yogurt, customers can choose from a variety of toppings, from fresh fruit to sweet temptations like chocolate, marshmallow, cheesecake bites, brownie bites and more.
Also next month, Yogen Früz will make its debut in Mayagüez, where a new shop will open at the Centro Novios del Oeste mall. Franchisees are investing $130,000 in the future operation. The 12th store will open in August, at the Los Prados mall in Carolina, company officials said.
The Canadian franchise landed on the island in 2008.
