Clorox, United Way reach more than 600 children with art, donations

Clorox and United Way Puerto Rico have teamed up for a fourth year to support students with the “Contigo y Clorox: ¡El presente tiene futuro!” (“With You and Clorox: The Present Has a Future”) campaign, providing back-to-school assistance to more than 600 children across the island.
This year’s edition focused on creativity and wellness, inviting children to express their hopes for the future through drawings and written messages. Some of the collected artwork — gathered during a weeklong event at Plaza Las Américas — will be turned into motivational murals by artist Bianca Montoya at schools throughout Puerto Rico.
“The opportunity to create these murals feels like a beautiful way to tell children how important their future is, and how education can go hand in hand with creativity to help make their dreams come true,” Montoya said.
The campaign also included the donation of nearly 4,800 Clorox products to more than 50 schools. The cleaning and disinfecting supplies are intended to help maintain safe and healthy classrooms as the academic year begins.
“This year we’ve surpassed our expectations,” said Mayra Báez, trade marketing manager for Caricam. “By adding art as a form of expression, we saw a massive response from the community, which joined enthusiastically to create a positive impact for students.”
United Way Puerto Rico President Glorymar Rivera-Báez emphasized the importance of emotional well-being. “Initiatives like this allow us to create spaces where students feel valued, motivated and safe, which is vital for their development,” she said.
