Companies to launch global e-mall with local flavor, sales estimates of $2M in 3 years

Guaynabo-based eGloboMall.com, a company dedicated to providing U.S.-based e-commerce retailers an outlet to sell their goods throughout Latin America, has granted a contract to Savtira Corp. to develop a cloud-based e-store to continue expanding its global footprint.

In the first three years, the agreement should generate more than $2 million in gross sales, Savtira executives said in a release issued Wednesday.

Founded in 2010, eGloboMall provides stateside e-commerce retailers with a total multi-channel solution in the Caribbean and Latin America, using mobile e-commerce and ‘brick and mortar’ stores and kiosks to sell products from multiple vendors and distributors.

eGlobomall’s mobile e-commerce model is experiencing rapid growth due to the high penetration of mobile phone usage in the Caribbean and Latin America, company officials said.

“The Caribbean and Latin America are ripe grounds for a cloud-based Software-as-a-Service e-commerce solution,” said Marc Baron, director of eGlobalMall.com. “Broadband adoption is expanding, however mobile telephony is the real opportunity — a dozen Latin America and Caribbean countries have a mobile penetration exceeding 100 percent.”

For example, he mentioned Trinidad and Tobago, Argentina and Panama as having higher mobile penetration levels than Canada and the U.S. mainland.

“This represents a significant untapped opportunity for the delivery of information and transaction services by market actors,” said Baron.

At present, eGloboMall provides clients guaranteed delivery in 72 hours to 90 countries, as well as social networking, enhanced consumer search process using telepresence technology, and local-based personal customer service.

Meanwhile, Savtira custom designs and manages online businesses for retailers and e-tailers, device manufacturers, publishers, software and game developers, among others. Savtira eStores are branded and custom-tailored for its clients so that no two eStores are alike.

“We are proud to be partnering with eGloboMall.com.  It’s a win-win situation for both companies,” said Savtira CEO Timothy Roberts. “eGloboMall.com will allow Savtira to extend into the Caribbean and Latin American markets.  We look forward to implementing our cloud computing and e-commerce expertise for eGloboMall.com.”

Through the agreement, eGloboMall will expand its catalog of products to include millions of digital goods, including music, e-books, audiobooks, games, software, Internet radio and videos from Tampa, FL-based Savtira’s catalog, while Savtira will extend into the Caribbean and Latin America.
